Reducing Cost and Increasing Quality Through Sustainable Agriculture
Green 2020 has entered into a partnership with AgriZan Group in order to give primary growers and their customers the opportunity to experience a wholly new and natural way to ensure high quality and yield on a 50% lower cost basis than currently.
AgriZan is about an economic, ecological and sustainable way to produce food for the future. The AgriZan technology consists of three organic products each aimed at increasing water and nutrient retention, reducing the need for irrigation, and promoting root growth in arid and saline soils. In return the primary grower can expect higher yields, better quality produce (brix readings) and reduced costs.
The Products:
1-AgriZan Bio Humus: This is a naturally occurrring highly organic material, rich in carbon that with amended organic additives becomes host to a range of important microbiota that has an extremly beneficial and postive effect in establishing growth in infertile, arid and saline soils.
2-AgriZan Mycor: A designed combination of mycorrhiza species that have a symbiotic
association with plant roots and is tailored for arid, saline and desertified land.
3-AgriZan Humate Extract: a highly dilutable extract of the parent material, Agrizan Bio Humus
that acts as a biostimulant and supplier of soluble nutrients during the growth season of the
crop. Agrizan Humate Extract can be used to increase yields in field and row crops and to
improve fruiting of old trees.
The Market:
1-Agricultural Market: to reduce the reliance on chemical fertilsers, improve yields and reduce
irrigation and as a result create drastic cost reductions. Restoration of poorly producing
plantations.
Case Studies:
Bananas:
We have worked with banana growers in Davao, Mindanao, Philippines. In recent
years the region has become drier and the soils depleted in organic matter.
Using AgriZan material, a trial plantation was established and data obtained showed that
- Plants grew more robustly than the control group (no AgriZan)
- Fruit setting was significantly earlier than the control group
- More grade 1 exportable fruit were harvested
- Plants in AgriZan amended soil were more resistant to Sigatoka, Moko and other diseases
- Plants were established with half the usual amount of mineral fertiliser
- The non-irrigated plants performed as well, if NOT better than the irrigated ones, demonstrating that AgriZan will retain moisture in the root zone of the soil whilst encouraging better root systems.
Citrus:
AgriZan technology allows better establishment of citrus in an improved soil and promotes the
uptake of nutrients via specific Mycor. Crop health and nutrient status is maintained by
spraying Humate Extract. This material will help to restore sub-optimal trees andcan be used in conjunction AgriZan Mycor inoculum by direct injection into the root zone.
